Element has an opportunity for a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services team.
A successful candidate will have a solid foundation as a security engineer, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing security solutions at scale. Expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains is essential.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats and attacks, with a focus on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
* Assist in designing and implementing technical solutions and security toolsets to address vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and automate tasks.
* Contribute to planning, implementing, and managing the security operations tooling roadmap.
* Collaborate on the engineering, management, monitoring, and upgrades of cybersecurity infrastructure.
* Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
* Develop and optimize SIEM event correlation rules to filter security events.
* Support the transition of projects into operational services.
* Develop technical solutions for vulnerability mitigation and task automation.
* Ensure documentation and procedures are up-to-date.
* Conduct security checks and troubleshooting.
* Maintain standard operating procedures and protocols.
* Work closely with the Cyber Defence team to uphold security practices.
* Support incident response efforts.
* Assist with operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a belief in "Security as an enabler".
* Strong intellectual agility and adaptability.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review designs, reports, and standards confidently.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical info for non-technical audiences.
* Knowledge of security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in multi-site, multinational environments.
* Experience with security technologies like NDR, FW, IPS, IDS, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, SOAR, log management.
* Preferred experience with Azure, AWS, Defender, Darktrace.
* Background as a Cyber Security Engineer or related roles such as Network or Server Engineer.
* Experience working internationally and in multicultural settings.
* Interest in infrastructure and application support and development is a plus.
