Senior Quality Engineer

Overview
Senior Quality Engineer role within Hymans Robertson’s Actuarial Public business unit. Part of the digital team, focusing on designing and delivering platforms and processes that empower the consulting business to make effective use of data.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks across diverse programming environments and platforms
* Apply shift‑left approach to introduce automated testing early in the delivery lifecycle
* Ensure robust build and release pipelines with high levels of automated test coverage
* Influence development approaches and testing strategies for digital initiatives
* Stay current with the latest QA tools, techniques, and practices
* Mentor and support quality analysts in developing test automation skills
* Adhere to the firm’s Information Security standards, policies, and procedures
* Contribute to expert groups and knowledge‑sharing initiatives
Required Qualifications
* Solid experience in automated software testing, including:
o Functional testing using Cypress and Selenium
o Testing strategies for data‑heavy and large batch processing workloads
o Non‑functional testing (usability, reliability, compatibility, portability)
o Experience working in complex, regulatory environments
* Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, ideally using Angular, TypeScript, C#, and .NET
* Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Jest, and NUnit
* Experience integrating automated tests into release pipelines (preferably using Azure DevOps YAML pipelines)
* Background in agile software delivery, ideally within Scrum and BDD environments
* Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
* Confidence working across the full Software Development Lifecycle, including production issue resolution
* A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for team‑based problem solving
* Self‑motivation and a passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing
* Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and working practices
* ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level certification (preferred)
