We are seeking a Manager to lead our Economic Crime Unit (ECU), part of the National Environmental Crime Unit (NECU). The successful candidate will lead a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.
Responsibilities
* Lead and set strategic direction for the ECU in managing financial investigations and compliance with the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
* Provide strong leadership to two Team Leaders (Asset Denial Team and Money Laundering Investigation Team) and a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer; motivate, develop, and manage performance and delivery.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, Legal) and external partners (Police, National Crime Agency, HMRC); influence at senior levels to align EA priorities with external enforcement efforts.
* Support the wider organisation in improving processes and understanding POCA; share lessons learned, contribute to technical documentation, and advise enforcement officers nationwide.
* Oversee the two ECU teams, comprised of Financial Investigators, Financial Intelligence Officers, and Crime Analysts, with emphasis on handling serious and complex criminality involving organised networks.
Experience and qualifications
* Exceptional leadership skills, ideally with experience managing a dispersed team; solid understanding of financial investigations and POCA.
* Experience in the law enforcement sector and understanding of the National Intelligence Model.
* Strong communication skills, including delivering feedback, managing performance, and building relationships with external stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise a varied workload.
* Experience identifying areas for improvement and leading changes to working practices; track record of developing team capability.

Other information
* This is a hybrid role; work from home and nearest office with national travel for meetings and operational duties. Incident response is a central part of duties and may include an additional payment. Training and workplace adjustments are available.
