You'll be supporting a child within the school with Autism, working closely with them throughout the day. Ensuring they and classmates remain safe, focusing on class work and techniques to further education, managing behaviour and general support for the class teacher. Career progression within this school could be working towards starting teacher training or learning the ropes of covering classes to progress to a higher level teaching assistant.
The school
This is a small primary school with one class per year group, small class sizes and staff know each child by name. They have excellent facilities and resources and provide regular training and support from outside agencies. Recent 'Good' report from OFSTED including mentions about the senior leadership team and pupils behaviour. Great location, easily accessible by public transport from across London.
What you'll need
Minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young adults with Autism, professional or personal.
Good understanding of the UK education system
