Multi-Skilled Maintenance Assistant

The role will involve the successful candidate working within a small multi-skilled team of estates personal, working to an agreed framework of planned maintenance and agreed response times to reactive works.
Ensuring that legislative compliance is adhered to at all times, also to ensure the building is a safe environment for patients, staff and relatives.

Main duties of the job
Carry out routine and non-routine base level craftsman's planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance work using own initiative within UHDB retained sites and associated properties. Have the ability to recognise the required standards needed and apply the relevant remedial work required to resolve the situation
Observing all relevant safety standards and procedures, to ensure a safe working environment for all patients, visitors and staff.

Person Specification
Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements
* To be able to demonstrate experience in either Electrical/Mechanical or Building & Joinery discipline.
Experience & Knowledge
* To be able to demonstrate theoretical knowledge and procedures for carrying out repair work on Building / Mechanical / Electrical plant and equipment.
* NVQ Level 3 Engineering Practice or be able to demonstrate previous satisfactory work experience
* To be able to demonstrate a good understanding of hospital estates operations such as maintenance procedures - PPM
Skills and Ability
* To be able to demonstrate experience in the required area of technical aspects related to the post
* To be able to demonstrate the ability to plan/manage workload such as project maintenance and priority

* To be able to work flexibly depending on the needs of the service.
