Your role
This 9-month maternity cover role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build strong foundations across both Portfolio Risk Management and Underwriting. You'll support two core teams within the Risk function, helping maintain the daily rhythm of our risk controls, customer lifecycle checks, and application workflows.
The role provides meaningful exposure across the full risk lifecycle — from in life customer monitoring to new business decision support — offering an ideal stepping stone toward future progression as a Risk Analyst, Underwriter, or roles within the wider Portfolio Management team.

What you'll be doing
What You'll Do:
In this central role, you'll help both teams operate smoothly by supporting daily risk checks, keeping customer and application data accurate, and ensuring underwriting workflows move efficiently. You'll work with key systems such as Salesforce and internal risk tools to maintain data quality, support weekly reporting cycles, and contribute to both in life risk management and new customer assessments.
You'll also play a key part in the Monday underwriting cycle, helping manage the weekend E2E application pipeline and ensuring decisions progress with the right level of diligence. Your work will support early risk identification, operational accuracy, and high-quality decision making across the function.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency
• Confidence working with Salesforce and Microsoft Excel
• Clear written communication with the ability to maintain audit-ready notes
• Organised, methodical, and comfortable within time-sensitive workflows
• Ability to adapt across multiple workstreams and maintain prioritisation
Desirable:
• Experience in credit risk, underwriting, fraud checks, or portfolio management
• Familiarity with credit reference data, risk indicators, or credit insurance
• Understanding of credit limits, bonds, or customer lifecycle monitoring
