What you'll own
● Data engineering – API integrations with housing association asset management platforms and external datasets. Schema normalisation, variability handling, evidence mapping into a source-of-truth layer.
● ML/AI delivery – Lead development of Ask Quinn, our AI risk agent. Auditability, governance, traceable retrieval, confidence scoring.
● Platform & standards – Secure cloud environment (Azure/AWS), CI/CD, observability, and engineering standards from day one.
● Team build – Post-raise, hire and lead the engineering team. Set the culture for testing discipline and delivery velocity.
Who you are
● You've built and shipped real systems end-to-end—not just contributed to them. Strong in Python, SQL, API design (FastAPI), data pipelines, and testing discipline.
● You're comfortable at the founding stage: ambiguity, speed, wearing multiple hats, making decisions with incomplete information. You've either done it before or you're ready for it.
● Production ML experience—or a strong track record of learning fast and deploying responsibly. Cloud + containers (Azure/AWS, Docker), CI/CD, monitoring.
● You care about outcomes, not just code. You want to own a problem, not just a backlog.
● Bonus: experience in insurance, property data, or other regulated "trust" environments—but not essential.
