[B2 Avionics Lead Job in Birmingham STS Aviation Services UK] STS Aviation Services is hiring an experienced Production Manager to lead Avionics operations at our Birmingham facility. This leadership role sits at the heart of our military maintenance programme and calls for a seasoned professional who can guide teams, oversee complex work scopes, and ensure every task is delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with MRP Part 145 regulatory standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities
You will lead the Avionics function within Base Maintenance and ensure the smooth running of all scheduled and unscheduled work. Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring that the STS procedures and standards are complied with when carrying out Base maintenance.
* Support the MRP 145 Planning Team to assist with the day to day sequencing of Avionic work packages.
* The availability of sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and certify the work being performed in Base Maintenance.
* The availability of a Base Maintenance working environment appropriate to the tasks being undertaken.
* The availability and day to day management of the Avionics Workshop.
* The availability of tools, equipment, and materials to perform the planned tasks in Base Maintenance.
* Ensuring the competence of all personnel engaged in maintenance.
* Line Management of B2 Licenced Engineers and Avionic Technicians.
* Notifying the Senior Engineer and Head of Maintenance Military whenever available man hours for Base maintenance reduce below 75 percent over a period of 1 calendar month.
* Responsible for ensuring all H and S requirements are complied with in Base Maintenance.
Skills and Abilities
* Completed an engineering apprenticeship ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or military equivalent
* Minimum of 20 years aircraft experience
* Previous aircraft production supervisory experience
* Previous modification supervisory experience
* Military aircraft experience essential
* Good knowledge of Avionics and Electrical systems and techniques
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Good knowledge of MS Office applications
* Eligible to work and live in the United Kingdom
