Site Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects
Location: UK-Wide Travel (Project-Based)

Role Overview
We are recruiting a Site Engineer to support the delivery of multi‑technology renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind, hydro, and biomass installations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate setting out, surveying, and ensuring engineering designs are delivered correctly on site. You will act as the key technical link between design teams and live construction environments, reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Set out works using GPS, total stations, and laser levels
• Translate design drawings into accurate site layouts
• Verify construction works meet approved engineering specifications
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality and compliance
• Conduct site inspections and maintain quality assurance standards
• Record and maintain site surveys, measurements, and as‑built documentation
• Produce daily and weekly site progress reports
• Support technical problem‑solving throughout all build stages
• Liaise with design teams, project managers, and clients where required
• Communicate technical requirements clearly to site staff
• Assist in client and regulatory inspections
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Engineering
• Experience in setting out and surveying on construction projects
• Strong understanding of renewable energy construction practices
• Proficient with CAD software and surveying equipment (GPS, total station)
• Health & Safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH or similar) preferred
Skills & Competencies
• Strong communication and technical reporting abilities
• Ground Mount Solar Farm build experience – essential
• Excellent problem‑solving capability and decision‑making skills
• Strong leadership and organisational ability
• High attention to detail and commitment to engineering accuracy
• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings
• Solid understanding of UK renewable energy construction standards
