An outstanding and inclusive secondary school in Southampton is seeking a qualified and experienced SENCO to lead and shape the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities from September 2025.
Overview of Responsibilities:

Lead the SEND department, line-managing a team of LSAs and coordinating provision
*
Liaise with families, outside agencies, and SLT to ensure the highest standards of support
*
Maintain records including EHCPs and Individual Learning Plans
*
Deliver and support high-quality CPD for teachers around differentiation and inclusive practice
*
Champion a culture of equity, access, and high expectations for all
Person Specification:
*
QTS and the National SENCO Award (or commitment to complete)
*
Demonstrated leadership in SEND or inclusion
*
Knowledge of current SEND policy, safeguarding, and funding
*
Strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills
