Job overview

We have a programme of work to deploy a single Primary Care and Community Order Communications System across our ICS footprint. This piece of work will involve working with the approved supplier to design, build and deploy the new system via a phased approach, working with a variety of stakeholders, both clinical and technical to ensure timely delivery of a safe and effective system which will become an exemplar of system convergence and collaboration in the digital healthcare space.

We require 2 Project Managers to work with the Programme Manager and under the governance of a programme board, to support the first 2 provider locations to adopt the new system

You will need to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, stakeholder engagement and professionalism as well as having experience of delivering projects within a healthcare environment and a proven track record in facilitating change and realising benefits.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within UHMB's I3 Service which is considered to be digitally mature, a leader in innovation and at the forefront of digital integration.

The post holder will be a specialist leading on project delivery managing projects in support of the programme and the Digital Strategy, within a care partnership setting.

The Project Manager is required to manage and control the delivery of the project in accordance with best practice methodology, in the best interest of our patients, and under the guidance of a project board.

As this role involves working with a diverse array of clinical and non-clinical teams applicants need to be willing to travel to all sites within the ICS footprint.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

We are looking to recruit motivated individuals with experience in Project Management to join our team and work with clinical and technical functions within the hospital environment and wider health community to deliver projects and develop digital maturity

Education and Qualifications


Essential criteria

* Good standard of education (Degree level or equivalent appropriate experience), or an appropriate IT discipline.
* Excellent standard of written and oral English
* Project Management Methodology qualification, e.g. PRINCE2.
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development.


Desirable criteria

* Educated to Master’s Level or equivalent level of experience (eg. Business, Management, HR) or ability to demonstrate equivalent level of experience.
* Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner (MSP)
* Lean Practitioner qualification or equivalent experience


Experience


Essential criteria

* Project Management experience including the development of complex project management frameworks, monitoring and review processes.
* Proven track record in successfully delivering digital projects in a similar environment
* Practical experience of Change Management and/or Service Redesign and Benefits realisation
* Examples of facilitating collaborative working.
* Experience and demonstrable application of a Project / Programme management methodology [e.g. PRINCE2, MSP or an equivalent]
* Proven successful planning and organising experience.
* Performance management including monitoring of delivery to timescales.


Desirable criteria

* Examples of leading on service improvement/workforce redesign projects.
* Examples of leading multi-disciplinary team projects including senior clinical staff.
* Experience of Workforce Planning.
* Delivery of new pathways to improve outcomes or patient experience
* Experience of using project monitoring / tracking tools
