Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Cost Accountant include:
* Tracking and analysing production costs, including materials, labour, and overheads.
* Assisting in preparing cost budgets and financial forecasts.
* Comparing actual costs to budgeted costs and investigating discrepancies.
* Assessing stock levels and ensuring accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
* Calculating the cost of manufacturing products to determine pricing and profitability.
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving operational efficiency.
* Preparing cost reports for management to support decision-making.
* Ensuring adherence to cost accounting standards and financial regulations.
The Successful Applicant
The sucessful Cost Accountant will have:
* Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Excellent communication skills, linking products to cost saving
* Suitably qualified by experience
* Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and variance analysis.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Good understanding of stock valuation, standard costing, and financial reporting.
* Ability to interpret and present financial data to management.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
