The Margaret Oliphant Library sits within Wallyford Learning Campus which opened in August 2023 and the open plan library sits just inside the main entrance and is shared with Rosehill High School. The successful candidate will provide a public library service on Fridays and Saturdays working alone in the space on Friday afternoons so must be able to work on their own initiative and develop good relationships with colleagues across the campus to provide services in partnership with others.
The post holder will be required to lead groups for children and adults Bookbug story, song and rhyme sessions, homework clubs, reading groups, reminiscence groups. Our library teams also support customers to access Council and partner services so the successful candidate will have excellent digital literacy skills and experience of supporting others to develop their own skills.
While this post is based mainly across Wallyford and Musselburgh Libraries, our teams work flexibly across our libraries and the successful candidate will be required to cover other libraries across East Lothian when needed.
