Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Landscape Site Supervisor is a pivotal, hands-on role responsible for the coordination and quality execution of all on-site installations. You will be the daily leader on the ground, translating unique design plans into high-quality, nature-based play spaces, often within sensitive historical or natural environments. This requires a high level of craftsmanship, practical expertise in both hard and soft landscaping, and a proactive approach to site management.
You will supervise and motivate a small site team, coordinate subcontractors, and manage site safety. You will report directly to the Project Delivery Manager.
This role requires resilience: It involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, significant physical labour, and regular travel across the UK with overnight stays (typically 4 nights per week depending on project location).
Why Join Earth Wrights? Your Opportunity to Craft Impact
At Earth Wrights, we are not just building playgrounds—we are crafting experiences that change communities. We believe in the power of nature-based design to inspire learning, creativity, and connection.
* Meaningful Impact: You will contribute to projects, often in beautiful and historically significant locations, that make a real, lasting positive impact on children and families. Every day, you'll see your hard work translate into a space where the community can thrive.
* A Culture of Craftsmanship: We value quality and detail over speed. Our supportive culture encourages mastery in both technical construction and sensitive soft landscaping. If you are passionate about precision and proud of your work, this is the environment for you.
* Support and Growth: We foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. We offer a supportive team environment where your ideas are heard and your development is prioritized. For the right candidate, we offer funding and clear pathways for career growth, including all essential safety and plant certifications.
* Unique Projects: Say goodbye to repetitive commercial builds. Our work is bespoke and imaginative, challenging you to use your full range of hard and soft landscaping skills to bring truly unique designs to life.
Key Responsibilities1. Provide Excellent Play Areas (Quality, Precision, Execution)
* Implement construction plans and technical drawings, ensuring accuracy in all elements of the build.
* Guarantee the highest quality execution of both hard landscaping (e.g., bespoke timber structures, surfacing, groundworks) and soft landscaping (e.g., planting, soil preparation, earth forms and turfing).
* Maintain efficient site flow, coordinating the timely delivery and placement of materials, plant, and equipment.
2. Lead a Small, Motivated Team (Coordination, Motivation, Training)
* Act as the central coordinator on site, guiding and instructing the Earth Wrights team and liaising with external trades.
* Supervise the quality of work performed by all site personnel, providing practical, hands-on guidance and support.
* Instil a positive, motivated, and collaborative culture within the site team.
3. Ensure Safety and Compliance (Health and Safety, RAMS, Inductions)
* Strictly uphold all Health & Safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
* Conduct thorough site inductions and daily toolbox talks.
* Assist the Project Delivery Manager by completing site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
4. Communicate and Report Clearly (Site Log, Progress, Issues)
* Maintain accurate and detailed daily site logs documenting work completed, materials used, labour hours, and any incidents.
* Communicate clearly and concisely with the Project Delivery Manager regarding site progress, quality checks, resource needs, and potential schedule issues.
* Manage site waste and ensure adherence to environmental procedures.
You're a Great Fit If...
* You take genuine pride in the quality and precision of your work.
* You are a self-starter who can take full ownership and responsibility for a project site with autonomy.
* You are resilient, enjoy the challenges of working outdoors in all weather, and are ready for the physical demands of a hands-on construction role.
* You have a collaborative, "can-do" attitude and genuinely enjoy motivating a small team.
* You value working on unique, nature-based projects over standard commercial builds.
Essential Requirements
* Proven supervisory experience managing small site teams.
* Strong understanding of H&S requirements.
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence (required for regular nationwide travel and overnight stays).
Highly Desirable: SSSTS and/or Plant Tickets (Digger, Dumper, Telehandler). We will provide training and funding for these for the right candidate.
Earth Wrights is committed to diversity in our workforce and encourages applicants from all backgrounds.
