Overview
Reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations, this is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to shape how we grow over the next three years. You will drive profitable growth by leading the strategic development and delivery of range, space, and format plans, ensuring we offer the right products, in the right space, and in the right formats to meet customer needs and deliver against our Long-Term Plan.
You will own the end-to-end governance of range and space change activity, leading a cross-functional decision forum that brings together Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to align behind one clear, integrated plan. This role gives you real visibility and influence, translating strategy into practical, executable programmes that deliver measurable results for our customers and our business.
Using a blend of commercial insight, data-led decision making, and collaborative leadership, you will optimise assortment performance, unlock space productivity, and enable successful execution across multiple channels and formats. You will play a key role in shaping future range and format strategies, driving continuous improvement, and building scalable ways of working that support long-term growth.

Responsibilities
13. Own and govern the Commercial Range & Space decision framework, ensuring cross-functional alignment behind a clear, prioritised three-year range change plan aligned to the Long-Term Plan.
14. Develop and maintain the rolling Commercial Change Roadmap, integrating customer insight, market trends and performance data to deliver profitable growth within agreed commercial guardrails.
15. Define and lead the Range, Space and Format Strategy, setting principles for assortment architecture, space allocation and format optimisation to maximise sales density, margin and customer relevance across channels.
16. Oversee execution of range builds, space planning and space allocation, ensuring planograms and format changes are delivered accurately, on time and in line with agreed strategy.
17. Own the end-to-end range change and product lifecycle management approach, ensuring disciplined SKU introduction, optimisation and exit to improve range productivity, space efficiency and return on investment.
18. Lead commercial range initiatives (including OEB, range expansion and format evolution), ensuring strong commercial design and effective transition into BAU delivery.
19. Ensure integrity of range, space and product data, providing robust inputs into DPP modelling and deployment decisions, with clear accountability for accuracy and compliance.
20. Optimise DPP funnel and deployment decisions, prioritising activity that delivers the highest commercial return across channels and formats.
21. Strengthen space planning and assortment capability within the team, improving analytical rigour, decision quality and execution consistency.
22. Act as the Screwfix interface with Kingfisher on Range and OEB matters, aligning priorities and representing commercial requirements within group frameworks.
23. Own performance tracking and MI for range and space, providing visibility of productivity, change delivery and risks to plan.
24. Lead and develop the Range & Space team, setting clear direction, building commercial and analytical capability, and ensuring strong delivery against strategic priorities.

25. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into clear, executable range and space plans that deliver measurable sales and margin outcomes.
26. Deep understanding of range architecture, product lifecycle management and space productivity, with the judgement to balance customer needs, financial performance and operational constraints.
27. Structured thinker who can frame complex commercial issues, use data to challenge assumptions, and drive evidence-based decisions.
28. Confident influencer able to align senior stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations behind clear priorities.
29. Effective cross-functional collaborator who builds credibility through clarity, consistency and delivery.
30. Comfortable operating in ambiguity, able to prioritise competing demands and maintain focus on long-term commercial objectives.
31. Strong people leader with experience developing analytical and commercial capability, coaching performance and addressing underperformance constructively.
32. Clear and compelling communicator, able to present insights and recommendations at senior leadership and MD level with authority and commercial rigour.
