Technical Procurement Manager
£60,000-£65,000 + Benefits
Locations: Manchester or South Yorkshire - Woking - Must be able to commute to one of those locations at least 3 times a week
The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established organisation in the industrial and logistics sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a procurement professional with strong contract management expertise to take on a role with real impact, where you’ll shape sourcing strategy, manage supplier relationships, and deliver cost efficiencies across complex supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead procurement activities across a broad range of categories, including transport, logistics, automation, and customs.
* Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, compliance, and timely delivery.
* Drive supplier performance and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver value across the business.
* Monitor market trends and leverage insights to support strategic sourcing decisions.
* Act as a business partner to operational teams, providing procurement expertise to influence and support wider business goals.
About You
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement at senior buyer or management level, ideally within a large, complex organisation.
* Proven track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
* Background in transport, logistics, or automation procurement is highly desirable.
* Degree-level education or professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS) preferred.
* Strong commercial acumen and project management skills.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Resilient, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
