As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. You'll be part of a team that thrives on energy, teamwork, and great food. About the Role As a Kitchen Assistant, you will: Food Preparation: You'll start by supporting the team on the salad bar, preparing fresh ingredients and learning the ropes. As your confidence and skills grow, you'll move on to assisting with the griddle and serving areas, helping to prepare hot meals and support service during busy periods. Daily Prep Tasks: You'll help with prepping vegetables, making soups, and ensuring the salad bar is fully stocked and beautifully presented. Kitchen Operations: You'll be part of a fast-paced kitchen that serves around 300 covers a day, so teamwork and communication are key. Cleaning & Hygiene: At the end of each shift, you'll help clean down the kitchen, ensuring all surfaces, equipment, and utensils are spotless and ready for the next day. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety is a big part of the role. Team Support: You'll be a key part of the kitchen team, always ready to lend a hand, learn new skills, and contribute to a positive working environment. Essential Skills and Qualifications Experience in a similar environment is preferred however not essential as training will be provided. A genuine love for great food and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Someone who's flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Competitive Hourly rate : £12.86ph to start. Shift Hours : 30-hours per week, covering any four days out of seven. A rota is issued two weeks in advance.
