Technical Manager
Location: Flexible
Reporting to: Technical Director / Head of Technical
Contract Type: Full-Time, (12-month FTC), Perm available
Role Overview
The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring food safety, quality, legality, and compliance standards are maintained across the business. The role supports continuous improvement, manages quality systems, drives audit compliance, and works closely with operational teams to deliver high standards throughout manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with food safety, legal, customer, and certification requirements.
- Manage internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Monitor and report technical KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead investigations into customer complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Maintain HACCP systems and food safety controls.
- Support technical training and promote a strong food safety culture.
- Work with production and other departments to improve quality and compliance standards.
- Support technical projects and business improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related subject.
- HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 minimum.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of BRCGS and customer standards.
- Understanding of HACCP, GMP, GHP, and food safety principles.
- Experience managing audits, quality systems, and technical compliance.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
