Are you a compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in SEND education? We are recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to work across schools and specialist provisions in Halifax.
This is a rewarding role supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, social and emotional needs, and learning difficulties.
* Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupils.
* Help implement personalised learning plans, ensuring pupils can access lessons.
* Assist with behaviour management, using de-escalation and positive reinforcement.
* Support communication needs - experience with Makaton, PECS, or alternative communication is an advantage.
* Provide personal care and moving & handling support where required.
* Work as part of a wider SEN team, liaising with teachers, therapists, and families.
* Previous experience working with children/young people in SEN, care, or youth support.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply: child workforce essential; adult workforce desirable).
* Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, term-time).
* Training in Team Teach, Moving & Handling, or Makaton would be highly desirable.
