This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading technical design, and helping deliver high-quality solar installations for residential clients. Youll play a key role in designing efficient and compliant solar PV systems, preparing proposals and completing DNO applications. Job Opportunity * Design solar PV systems for residential and commercial projects * Produce panel layouts, string designs, and system schematics * Conduct shading analysis, energy yield calculations, and system sizing * Ensure compliance with industry standards (MCS, G98/G99, DNO requirements) * Work closely with sales, engineering, and installation teams * Review site surveys and satellite imagery to optimise system design Company Benefits Competitive Salary - Reflective of your skills and experience. Essential Skills * 1-2 years experience designing solar PV systems (domestic or commercial) * Proficiency with solar design software such as PVSol, OpenSolar (or similar) * Good understanding of electrical principles and solar PV systems * Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools (preferred) * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines * Experience with battery storage or hybrid systems (desirable) * Knowledge of inverter systems (SolarEdge, Enphase etc.) * Understanding of UK solar regulations and grid connection processes
