About the School
Protocol Education are working on behalf of a small, specialist therapeutic secondary school with big aspirations. The school provides short-term therapeutic and educational interventions (typically two terms) for pupils aged 11–16 who are experiencing tier 2/3 mental health needs.
The aim is to re-engage pupils in learning, build resilience and develop social, emotional, cognitive and creative skills. Pupils are then supported to reintegrate into mainstream or longer-term specialist settings.
The school is staffed by a passionate, multidisciplinary team including teachers, support coaches, pastoral leads, social workers, trainee creative arts therapists and on-site CAMHS practitioners.
The Role
Protocol Education are seeking a Nurture Teacher to join this dedicated and supportive team. The successful candidate will:
* Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that meets the academic and emotional needs of pupils.
* Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
* Adapt lessons to suit individual needs, helping pupils build confidence and independence.
* Work closely with therapeutic and pastoral staff to ensure a holistic approach.
* Play a vital role in supporting pupils to understand and manage their mental health.
About You
We are looking for a teacher who is:
* Passionate about supporting pupils with mental health and SEND needs.
* Resilient, creative and reflective in their teaching practice.
* Skilled in building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
* Able to contribute to a therapeutic, child-centred curriculum.
* Committed to ongoing professional learning.
Experience in a specialist or therapeutic setting is desirable, but applications are also welcomed from mainstream teachers with a strong interest in SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
