Undertake minor and enhanced surgical consultations, including a full assessment of the medical condition, patients' concerns, and expectations. The post holder will record full details of consultations onto the electronic clinical system.
Follow care pathways for common skin problems as recommended by national guidance.
Provide treatment only for the presenting complaint and in accordance with the dermatology formulary and prescribing restrictions.
Offer treatments or surgical procedures within the scope of the head contract, ensuring not to undertake any procedures that are excluded.
Ensure patients or carers are fully informed, answer questions, and provide written information if required.
Maintain up-to-date records, dictate letters to GPs at the time of consultation, and review and amend as necessary within an appropriate timescale.
Undertake appropriate surgical procedures only after training and direct observation to ensure competency.
Order investigations, ensure pathology forms are filed correctly, and act on results, updating GPs and patients.
Work with the team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, participate in audit and evaluation, and attend Clinical Governance meetings.
Keep up-to-date with new guidelines and develop skills accordingly.
Provide support, guidance, and advice to junior team members and nursing staff.
Qualifications and Experience
* Full GMC Registration, specialist registration
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Dermatology or within 6 months of CCT
* Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
* Wide knowledge and experience in Dermatology
* UK permit or right to work in the UK
* Commitment to professional development

* Understanding of evidence-based practice, clinical effectiveness, clinical governance, and health policies
* Ability to make clear, concise medical notes, both computerized and manual

About the Role
