RoleResponsibilities
* Sourcingstrategies:
o Identify, evaluate,and implement sourcing strategies in regions including India, Chinaand Africa.
o Devise a new strategy for ourexisting range of SRA / UKMHRA approved range ofsuppliers.
o Together with Sales and Operations,determine which products will be sourced for stock keeping at oneor more of Uniphar'swarehouses.
* Categorystrategies:
o Analyze market trendsand create comprehensive category strategies for pharmaceuticals,medical supplies, medical equipment, kits and other goods relatedto humanitarian relief.
o Implement innovativeapproaches to optimize procurement processes within differentcategories.
* CostManagement and Negotiation:
o Drivecost-saving initiatives while maintaining qualitystandards.
o Conduct price negotiations withsuppliers to secure competitive pricing and work with the salesdepartment to select the most cost-effective vendors inquotations.
o Together with a team of procurementexecutives, keep prices updated in our ERP, and/or conduct spotprice negotiations for tenders and RFQs whererequired.
* SupplierRelationshipManagement:
o Cultivate andmaintain strong relationships with existingsuppliers.
o Identify and onboard new suppliers,ensuring alignment with quality and ethicalstandards.
* ContractManagement:
o Oversee contractnegotiations and management, ensuring adherence to terms andappropriate renewals orrevisions.
* Complianceand Risk Management:
o Ensureadherence to regulations and industrystandards.
o Mitigate procurement-related risksand develop contingencyplans.
* ProcessImprovement:
o Continuously assessand enhance procurement processes for increasedefficiency.
o Implement best practices andinnovative approaches to streamlineworkflows.
* PerformanceMonitoring and Reporting:
o Developand maintain KPIs to measure procurementperformance.
o Generate reports providinginsights and recommendations forimprovement.
* TeamLeadership and Development:
o Lead,mentor, and develop a small but high-performing procurement team,which is geographical dispersed (UK/EU andIndia).
o Provide guidance, training, and supportto enhance team capabilities.
