Data Centre Electrical Facilities Maintenance Shift Technician
Location: Hertfordshire
Employer: Direct (Top 5 Global Data Hosting Company)
Salary: £51,000 basic + £2,500 shift allowance + 10% bonus
Shifts: Continental (12-hour, rotating days and nights)
We are recruiting on behalf of a long-standing client—a global leader in data hosting—for a Shift Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their in-house engineering team at a flagship data centre in Hertfordshire.
This is a permanent role, ideally suited to an experienced engineer looking for long-term career progression in a secure and well-structured environment.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Monitoring and maintaining critical electrical and M&E infrastructure.
* Responding to faults and ensuring all systems are operating to the highest standards.
* Supporting the safe operation of electrical systems and maintaining compliance with all relevant procedures and guidelines.
* The focus of this position is reliability, professionalism, and technical integrity in a business-critical setting.
Candidate Requirements
* Recognised qualifications in electrical engineering (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Experience in a critical environment is preferred (data centres, finance, pharma, etc.) but not essential.
* A solid, stable career history—this role is not suited to those with frequent job changes.
* Strong communication skills and a conscientious approach to work.
* Must hold Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK, with a minimum of 5 years continuous UK residency (due to site security clearance requirements).
