Main Accountabilities:
1. Site planning: Plans on-site project activities related to the assigned discipline with the Site Manager or Site Construction Manager, including necessary local resources, equipment, and milestones. Coordinates agreements between the customer and external resources on installation/construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization, and policy.
2. Site coordination and monitoring: Responsible, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer or Project Manager to handover, for coordinating all on-site activities related to the assigned discipline to ensure the successful execution of start-up, installation/construction, erection, testing, and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
3. Stakeholder relations: Serves as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and other local organizations.
4. Health, safety, and environment (HSE) and project security: Ensures a detailed and up-to-date construction H&S plan is in place for each work package, compliant with the company's plan. Ensures all on-site resources are properly trained on health, safety, and environment policies and promotes safety considerations throughout the project. Has the authority to suspend activities in case of HSE violations.
5. Equipment handling and logistics: Ensures correct handling, storage, and installation of delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage and shipment logistics to secure timely delivery.
6. Sub-contractors: Manages on-site sub-contractors hired by ABB to ensure quality and progress meet standards and deadlines.
7. Site cost management: Controls project costs for site work, monitors actual spend against forecasts, estimates final costs, manages petty cash, and has delegated purchasing authority within limits.
8. Documentation: Ensures all documentation is updated and maintained, using the latest revisions for construction work.
9. People leadership and development: Ensures the area is properly organized, staffed, and skilled. Guides, motivates, and develops team members, and coordinates local logistics and facilities.
Summary: Supervises a team in executing tasks within an assigned area, coordinates work assignments, and conducts performance reviews. Requires several years of experience as a Site Supervisor with knowledge in Site Management, H&S, Environment, Quality Assurance & Control, Installation, and basic know-how of Commissioning and Civil Works.
