TeacherActive are proud to be partnering with a specialist provision in the Ellesmere Port area that provides exceptional education and care for children and young people with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to develop their confidence, resilience, and readiness for learning.
We are currently seeking a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join the team and make a positive impact on the lives of young people who need additional support to succeed in education.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours on a 1:1 and small group basis
Implementing behaviour support plans and working closely with teaching and pastoral staff
Using de-escalation and trauma-informed strategies to promote positive behaviour
Encouraging engagement, emotional regulation, and progress within a structured and safe environment
Contributing to a supportive and collaborative team culture
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural difficulties, or trauma backgrounds
Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and behaviour management strategies
Calm, patient, and resilient with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
