Do you have a caring nature and a true passion for supporting others?

We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated female Support Workers to join a brand-new care package supporting a male client with a spinal cord injury who lives independently in his own home.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh, supportive team from the very beginning, helping to shape high-quality, person-centred care.

You'll play a vital role in supporting his independence, dignity, and quality of life. The client has pet dogs, so you must be comfortable around animals, including large dogs. The role also includes supporting a client who smokes.

Location:Paddock Wood

Roles Available:

• Part time: 2 shifts per week

• Full time: 3 shifts per week

Shift Patterns:

• Days: 08:00-20:00

• Waking Nights: 20:00-08:00

• Bank Holidays and weekend work form part of the rota

Pay Rates:

• £15.25 per hour day rate

• £16.25 per hour waking night rate

• Enhanced rate for weekends, double time for Bank Holidays

• £1.00 per hour less during probationary period

Role Responsibilities:

• Providing personal care and assistance with daily living

• Supporting mobility and clinical care needs (training provided)

• Assisting with routines to promote independence

• Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable home environment

• Supporting social activities and companionship

• Undertaking light domestic tasks

• Working collaboratively as part of a team

Person Specification

Essential:

• Caring, reliable and patient

• Willingness to learn and undertake training

• Strong communication skills (excellent English)

• Comfortable in a home with pets, including large dogs

• Willing to support a client who smokes

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a care role

• Experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries

• Full UK driving licence and willing to drive the clients own vehicle

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose: To support your client with their day-to-day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.

Internal and Management: This role will report to the Registered Manager

Key Duties/Responsibilities of our Support Worker:

Supporting your client to safely lead a fulfilling and more independent life by:

• Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, household tasks and paperwork

• Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice

• Support and monitor your client's healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks

• Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish

• Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly

• Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide

• Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support

• Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times

• Participate in learning and development opportunities as required

This is not intended to cover all the responsibilities of the post but to provide some guidance. The post holder will perform any other duties that are deemed reasonable and appropriate by your Line Manager.

As a term of employment, you may be required to undertake other duties and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required. This forms part of your employment contract.
