About the Role
The Optical Assistant will work alongside the clinical team to support the daily operations of eye care clinics, perform diagnostic examinations, and ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in pre- and post-operative clinical procedures
* Serve as theatre runner/escort, ensuring patient safety and supporting the surgical team
* Support patients throughout their journey and report concerns
* Check and prepare equipment for use
* Prepare clinical areas before procedures
* Maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of patient care
Candidate Requirements
* Empathetic with a genuine care for patients
* Commitment to delivering safe and high-quality patient care
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Willingness to develop professionally
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new systems
