Mental Health Assistant - Headington
An outstanding specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs based in Headington is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. The role is full‑time, starting ASAP or in September 2026. The SEN children are aged 4 to 11 and require consistent, ongoing support to ensure they have the highest quality of care and child‑centred support.
Ideally the candidate will be a Graduate in Psychology, Counselling, or Criminology, but other subjects will also be considered. A degree is not a necessity; candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
The Mental Health Assistant will be mentored by trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists. They will have the opportunity to shadow sessions, learn from them, and gain invaluable experience working with special needs and mental health issues.
