About This Opportunity
We are looking to appoint a new SEND Consultant to our central team of primary specialists. The successful applicant will join an established team of specialists, working to further raise standards and drive improvement across the Harris Federation. The role offers enormous scope for a talented and creative practitioner to work collaboratively across a group of academies.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Coaching and mentoring teachers and middle leaders to embed high quality SEND provision.
* Sharing best practice and developing robust improvement strategies to close the gap in outcomes for pupils with SEND.
* Assisting academies in recruitment, selection and supporting new practice or leading rapid recovery where required.
* Working strategically with Principals, senior leadership teams and support departments to improve standards and outcomes for students.
* Developing and advancing your career within a Federation that nurtures excellent future leaders.
What We Are Looking For
* A middle leader with at least three years of teaching experience and two years in a management role.
* A thorough understanding of the needs of students with SEND and a track record of raising achievement.
* Working knowledge of QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree.
* Resilient, creative and a dynamic practitioner.
* Experience as subject leader or equivalent management experience.
