We are therefore recruiting aProduction Driveline Technicianfor theBicester, Oxfordshiresite. The successful candidate will be the initial point of contact for handling daily queries relating to vehicle faults and resolving them in an effective and timely manner.
The Role:
Driveline Manufacture & Assembly
* Responsible for the fabrication of complex safety critical parts and assemblies related to the overall manufacturing process. Interpret complex part and assembly drawings/schematics and follow verbal instructions.
* Support the main Driveline production build process, as and when required, through the completion of designated safety critical work packages to the required quality standard, in the allocated time.
* Responsible for functional quality checks as determined by the production processes.
* Responsible for the safe operation of plant equipment and or hand tools associated with the manufacture/assembly process.
* Must be familiar with Safety Critical Workshop Manual Procedures within the overall driveline build process.
* Support with the creation and accuracy of Safety Critical Workshop Manual Procedures.
Vehicle Driveline Diagnosis and Repair
* Responsible for diagnosing and repair of vehicle faults (mechanical/electrical), ensuring root cause failure details are effectively communicated back to all stakeholders.
* Able to work alongside other stakeholders e.g. Engineering, Quality, etc to determine and correct issues to improve the overall reliability of the vehicles.
New Product Introduction
* Assist Product Development, Engineering, Production and Quality departments, to ensure all technical manufacturing queries are resolved prior to and during the production build process.
* Provide support to New Product Introduction activities, by ensuring that jigs, templates, and fixtures are fit for purpose and relevant critical build sequences are robust. Must be able to clearly and concisely impart knowledge in a practical way and where necessary documented.
* To carry out ah-hoc development and/or retro-fit works, either on or off-site.
* Assist management with the promotion of Design for Manufacture and Continuous Improvement projects, to realise benefits in overall quality and cost.
* Must have the ability to build good working relationships with all stakeholders. Able to demonstrate high levels of technical ability and always present ones self in a professional manner. A self-starter who will act as an ambassador of good work practice, throughout the NPI/Production process
The Requirements:
* Time served in a relevant discipline e.g. Mechanic/Electrician/Joiner/ Coachbuilder or an NVQ Level 3 qualification
* Minimum of 3 years' experience of the relevant driveline processes
* Demonstrate detailed working knowledge of vehicle safety systems; including steering, brakes, suspension, fuel.
* Detailed knowledge of chassis safety critical systems
* Demonstrate detailed working knowledge of SCWMP's
* 2 years' proven track-record of vehicle fault diagnosis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
* Able to interpret complex part and assembly drawings/schematics
* Demonstrate experience of vehicle/system fault finding
