The Role:
As Sales Manager for The Caledonian Edinburgh, you ?will be responsible for the US, North American, Canadian & LATAM Group and Incentive Market, in addition to the Local Edinburgh Market driving city relationships across direct clients and DMC partners. You have the responsibility of supporting the Commercial department, taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities within your markets whilst driving strategies, activities & proactive sales initiatives to retain and grow our business. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Analysis local market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads
Develop customer accounts and travel within the local area to drive business into the hotel and to increase market/customer share in all revenue streams
Manage and build relationships within Hilton Worldwide Sales to develop key managed accounts and lead opportunity for The Caledonian Edinburgh
Represent and target accounts through International / US Tradeshow attendance.
Drive proactive sales calls through telephone and face to face meetings, to source new leads, secure repeat business and identify historical and new opportunities.
Work within current business strategies and recognising potential opportunities
Cooperate with other departments in the hotel to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs.
Attend Sales events, and deliver creative and memorable Site Visits and Familiarisation Trips to showcase the property to existing and future leads / clients.
Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the Sales Director and senior management to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads
Answer customer queries in a prompt and professional manner
What Do We Desire:
Experience in the International MICE market and existing relationships with relevant agencies & incentive houses.
Experience in the Local Market to drive short lead direct Events
Excellent communication skills;?presentations, written and public speaking.
Ability to cold call clients for prospecting purposes
Ability to direct collaboration among cross-functional teams including external resources.
Ability to analyse departmental financial data in order to make strategic and tactical decisions.
Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behaviour and absolute discretion with sensitive information.
Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritise and implement actions required to achieve functional goals.
Proven understanding of clients business and category, including business plans, competitive environment & distribution channels and product financials.
An excellent team player who leads by example to resolve conflicts, introduce change and ensure collaboration among others.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Strong problem solving skills including ability to address any issue in collaboration with others, identify and prevent potential problems and develop problem solving skills in others.
