Our stunning care home, Formby Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built facility located in Formby, Merseyside. The home is registered to provide care to 76 residents with a variety of needs including residential, nursing, and dementia care. It reflects the New Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care. The home meets all CQC requirements and invests in enhancing residents' experiences through programs like OOMPH, an award-winning activities and wellbeing program. We have introduced electronic medication records and acoustic monitoring, along with silent nurse call systems.
Formby Manor has maintained zero agency usage for over 5 years, employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care. All staff are paid above the national minimum wage.
We are seeking to appoint a kind, motivated, and experienced Head Chef to join our team. The role involves providing high-quality food services tailored to residents' needs, contributing to their positive experience. This is a 40-hour contract with an excellent starting salary of £33,500 per annum. Shift times are 07:30-17:30, with alternate weekends off.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Ensure menus are clear and understandable, allowing residents to make daily choices.
2. Provide meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, ethnic, and personal needs.
3. Prepare nutritionally balanced, attractively presented meals in a timely manner.
4. Follow and adhere to company HACCP standards and ensure compliance.
5. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and serving areas, adhering to infection control standards and the Food Standards Act 1999.
6. Manage and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
7. Inspire and motivate the team to produce high-standard food.
8. Participate in the recruitment of kitchen staff alongside the Home Manager.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Ability to work independently and organize the kitchen team effectively.
2. Experience during busy meal periods, including breakfast and dinner service.
3. Experience in a care home or similar setting.
4. Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
5. Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu.
6. Ability to maintain records demonstrating legal compliance.
