Job Description Summary
As a Lead Control Systems engineer, you will report to the Control Systems Manager and work within a highly motivated team on system requirements, design, and verification of Control and Protection functions for HVDC schemes.
Your responsibilities include modeling DC systems, AC network equivalents, renewable systems, and interfacing control contract equipment to validate control and protection systems.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Support business needs regarding HVDC system modeling, validation, and performance studies.
2. Lead engineering design reviews, identify project risks, and propose reliable solutions.
3. Ensure project plans meet customer requirements and technical standards.
4. Support development of control, protection, and sequencing strategies.
5. Promote process improvements and re-use of solutions across projects.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
1. Engineering degree or equivalent in power systems/electronics, or proven HVDC experience.
2. Strong communication skills and ability to manage technical risks.
3. Experience with PSCAD and RSCAD simulation tools.
4. Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly, including travel if needed.
Desired Characteristics
* Experience in process improvement, RCA, or technical leadership.
* HVDC industry experience is a plus.
