Overview

Workshop Supervisor at James Fisher and Sons plc (Scantech Offshore). The role is responsible for operational service delivery of all James Fisher Offshore activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.

Scantech Offshore, part of the James Fisher Group, provides rental equipment including air compressors, steam generators, and rig cooling services, as well as designing, installing and commissioning bespoke heat suppression safety systems. James Fisher is a global engineering services company serving Energy, Defence and Maritime Transport sectors.


Location

Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Permanent position.


The Role

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for the operational service delivery of all James Fisher Offshore activities and to ensure projects are delivered in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while helping drive JFO business objectives. The Workshop Supervisor will establish and maintain an integrated and efficient function between operations and project functions across regions.


Operational Efficiency and Compliance

* Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
* Provide operational information for strategic plans.
* Implement and review operational policies and procedures.
* Assist delivery of projects from project handover to delivery stage.
* Support plan, schedule, and coordinate all operational aspects in support of projects.
* Ensure safe delivery of all scopes according to the Integrated Management System.


Manage Assets And Resources

* Ensure timely mobilisation and delivery of equipment.
* Analyse and manage inventory effectively.


Lead And Develop Teams

* Set job expectations and review performances.
* Train and manage employees.
* Maintain lean operational staff levels while planning for growth.
* Manage direct reports and operational teams during service delivery.
* Develop and maintain supplier relations in country.
* Implement policies and procedures in collaboration with management.
* Measure, monitor, and forecast workshop labour capacity.


Manage Client Relations And Service Delivery

* Ensure excellent service delivery.
* Develop an integrated approach to client service.
* Maintain relationships with internal service functions.
* Participate in meetings to support project delivery.
* Develop and maintain competency standards.
* Assist with mentoring and training of technicians.
* Set competency standards for operational services in our various regions.

You are required to always maintain a clean and safe working area and ensure compliance with defined HSE policies and procedures and identify any areas for improvement. PPE usage in accordance with company health and safety policies is required. Build an effective operational delivery team that focuses on service quality through equipment preparation and maintenance standards through to offshore execution. Any other reasonably delegated responsibilities as instructed by line management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements.


Qualifications & Experience

* Relevant engineering qualifications such as HND/NVQ.
* Familiar with hydraulics/mechanical operations.
* Offshore or workshop experience in an engineering services environment.
