As our Energy & Grant Reporting Officer, you’ll support Curo’s energy, retrofit, and decarbonisation programmes by ensuring grant funding is managed accurately, compliantly, and on time. You’ll be at the heart of our investment in energy efficiency — improving the quality of our energy data, supporting MEES compliance planning to 2030, and proactively identifying new funding opportunities to help us deliver warmer, greener homes. What you'll be doing 1. Grant Funding & Reporting Prepare and submit accurate reports to WECA for Wave 3 and any subsequent funding rounds. Coordinate and complete grant funding pull-down requests, ensuring all financial and performance evidence is validated and submitted on time. Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure full compliance with funding requirements, KPIs, and deadlines. Work with internal teams, WECA partners, delivery organisations, and finance colleagues to ensure clarity and accuracy of returns. Prepare internal programme updates for managers, ELT, and governance boards as required. 2. Identifying New Grant Opportunities Proactively monitor and search for new funding opportunities that support retrofit, decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and building performance improvement. Produce summary briefs outlining eligibility, benefits, risks, and match funding requirements. Support bid development by providing data, insights, and evidence for funding applications. Engage with regional and national bodies to stay informed on emerging funding streams and policy changes. 3. Energy Data Management Improve the quality, completeness, and reliability of organisational energy data, including consumption data, EPCs, and property energy information. Develop and maintain dashboards, spreadsheets, or Power BI reports to support monitoring and strategic decision-making. Work with IT, asset management, and property maintenance teams to streamline data flows and enhance data governance. Validate incoming data from contractors, assessors, and delivery partners to ensure accuracy and consistency. 4. MEES Forecasting & Compliance Analyse energy performance data and develop forecasts to support compliance with MEES 2030 requirements. Model energy improvement scenarios, identify non-compliant properties, and help prioritise retrofit interventions. Provide senior managers with insights and recommendations on compliance pathways and investment needs. 5. Programme Support & Coordination Support project managers through timely data reporting, funding evidence, and grant administration. Contribute to business cases, investment plans, and strategy documents. Assist with stakeholder engagement through briefings, updates, and presentations. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI). Understanding of energy data, EPC ratings, MEES requirements, or building performance. Ability to manage complex datasets and produce clear insights and recommendations. Strong research skills with the ability to identify and interpret new grant opportunities. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience. Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise effectively. Desirable Experience with public-sector funding streams (e.g., SHDF, HUG, LAD, WECA). Knowledge of retrofit, decarbonisation programmes, or housing/asset management. Understanding of financial processes, cost analysis, or forecasting. Experience in bid writing or contributing to funding applications.
