The Junior Compliance Officer Role
The Junior Compliance Officer will provide vital administrative and operational support to the Group Risk & Compliance function. The role will ensure that compliance registers, documentation, and training records are accurately maintained, and that regulatory reporting and policy management activities run efficiently and to deadline.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with early career experience in compliance or professional services to develop within a growing governance and risk function.
Responsibilities
Regulatory & Policy Administration
* Maintain compliance registers, including breaches, incidents, complaints, gifts and hospitality, and policies.
* Track and coordinate regulatory submissions and insurance declarations.
* Support the Group Risk & Compliance function in drafting, formatting, and updating compliance and governance policies.
* Manage policy version control, review cycles, and document filing within SharePoint and other internal systems.
Regulatory Review Support
* Assist with the collation of data and documentation for ICAEW, HMRC, and other regulatory or assurance reviews.
* Maintain evidence files to ensure all compliance information is readily available and audit ready.
Training & Communication
* Coordinate compliance training sessions, including reminders, attendance tracking, and recording completions.
* Assist with internal communications regarding new or updated policies and procedures.
Skills/Experience Required
* 1–2 years’ experience in a compliance or regulatory administration role (professional services or financial services preferred).
* Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
* Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
Desirable skills
* Familiarity with ICAEW or HMRC regulatory frameworks.
* Understanding of AML and onboarding processes.
* Experience maintaining policy registers or compliance documentation.
* Interest in progressing towards a compliance monitoring or governance role.
