Overview
Sekkari is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Silicon Photonics Integrated Circuit (IC) Engineer to play a crucial role in the design and simulation of our cutting-edge silicon photonics circuits. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions that will redefine the capabilities of autonomous systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of silicon photonics principles and hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools.
Responsibilities
* Design and simulate silicon photonics integrated circuits, encompassing both passive and active components
* Utilise advanced EDA tools, like Ansys, for comprehensive circuit design and layout
* Conduct rigorous optical and electrical simulations to verify circuit performance, optimise designs, and ensure manufacturability
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers and test engineers, to ensure seamless design integration and successful product realisation
* Stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving silicon photonics technology landscape and continuously explore new design tools and techniques
* Document detailed design specifications, simulation results, and comprehensive test plans
Qualifications
* Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a closely related technical field
* Proven experience in the design and simulation of silicon photonics integrated circuits is essential
* Proficiency with Ansys for optical design, or other similar design software is required
* Strong theoretical and practical understanding of optical wave propagation, semiconductor physics, and integrated circuit design principles
* Experience with photonic device characterisation and testing is a valuable asset
* Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail
* Ability to thrive both independently and as a collaborative team member in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to articulate complex technical concepts effectively
