Overview
SHEA - Safety Health & Environmental Business Partner role at Novus Property Solutions. Location - Home based but within commutable distance to Warrington or Head Office (Stoke-on-Trent). The role covers a national remit for Public Services and Commercial divisions, including refurbishment works in Health & Education, Fast Track (hotel fit outs) and Major Projects, with occasional overnight stays as needed.

Key responsibilities include developing trainees and building proactive relationships with operational teams, supply chain partners and clients to foster a strong safety and assurance culture that strives for excellence for our customers.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role requiring you to work with a range of stakeholders. You will be onsite carrying out safety and assurance inspections on maintenance and refurbishment projects, working with site teams and operational colleagues to deliver continuous improvement. You will also work with senior teams and the Head of SHEA to set the direction of our safety and assurance approach across the business.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to delivering the overall HSE strategy and key projects.
* Work with the Head of SHEA and Head of Operations to develop regional SHEA plans linked to overall business and SHEA objectives.
* Implement SHEA Committee meetings within the business unit to discuss SHEA performance.
* Develop and implement SHEA management systems, including policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date with legislation and best practice.
* Oversee all SHEA activity across the region, escalating non-compliance where required.
* Deliver a minimum of 16 SHE inspections per month across the business.
* Coordinate with QA to verify subcontractors via internal PQQ processes.
* Assist the Head of SHEA with accident/incident investigations and develop action plans.
* Proactively lead and deliver initiatives to improve SHEA culture.
* Partner with regional management teams to create and implement regional improvement plans focusing on E20 (H&S System) data, and develop training to support operations.
* Ensure that SHEA inductions are completed for all new starters and that mandatory training needs are met.
* Collaborate with operational teams to promote a positive, proactive safety culture and deliver SHEA campaigns and best practices.
Qualifications and About You
* Relevant qualifications including NEBOSH (General Construction) and IOSH membership (desirable).
* Asbestos Awareness, Scaffold Inspection, P405 and Environmental qualifications advantageous.
* Experience with a partnered approach to safety and the ability to lead an ambitious team.
* Strong IT skills and adaptability to new software; excellent attention to detail and clear communication with a self-starter, conscientious approach focused on delivering it right, first time.
* Experience in the refurbishment sector is essential; Full UK Driving Licence.
