Role Purpose: The position focuses on testing, diagnosing, and resolving issues in electronic products to meet both internal and customer requirements. It also involves developing and refining test procedures, ensuring robust quality standards, and supporting production efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives. Core Responsibilities: * Conduct troubleshooting, verification, and repair of manufactured units in alignment with defined specifications. * Create, update, and implement test procedures using a mix of automated systems (e.g., Flying Probe, JTAG) and manual/functional methods. * Contribute to practices that drive consistent, on-time delivery with zero defects. * Help establish strategies for inspection and testing, defining clear acceptance criteria and coverage requirements. * Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to colleagues on test processes and equipment use. * Develop training materials and documentation to ensure consistent competency across test operations. * Ensure programming and test development activities keep pace with production schedules. * Uphold and enforce quality standards across all testing activities. * Record, review, and analyze test performance data to drive improvement. * Act as a point of contact for customers on technical matters related to testing. * Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in test engineering. * Deliver reliable engineering support to management and cross-functional teams. * Offer technical expertise for all test-related processes to ensure customer expectations are met. * Prioritize error-proofing methods when developing or refining processes. * Support product introduction by documenting test-related input and outcomes in build reports. * Define and implement preventative maintenance plans for test equipment. * Estimate labor requirements for testing of new product introductions. * Contribute to the design and upkeep of company-wide ESD control measures. * Ensure equipment is robust, available, and capable of supporting production demand. * Manage configuration and data processes linked to test activities. * Specify and source test-related tooling. * Adhere to engineering change control and concession processes. * Promote test engineering as a key differentiator and value-adding capability. * Ensure calibration of all test equipment in line with standards. * Identify and eliminate inefficiencies within test engineering operations. Skills and Experience Required: * Degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline. * Practical background in electronic product testing within a manufacturing setting. * Strong knowledge of digital and analog electronics, including component-level troubleshooting and test methods and a strong understanding of production environments and associated challenges. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems and databases. * Proven track record of managing several projects simultaneously.
