The Role The successful candidate will deliver engaging DT lessons, promoting creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5). Teaching a broad range of DT disciplines, including resistant materials, product design, and CAD/CAM techniques. Ensuring safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and materials in accordance with health and safety regulations. Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress and attainment. Contributing to departmental curriculum development and lesson resource planning. Supporting enrichment opportunities, competitions, and school STEM initiatives. Candidate Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology. Practical experience with workshops, machinery, and DT materials. Excellent classroom management and organisational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities. Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
