The Role
Youll lead the design, development, and delivery of electrical and control systems used in complex electro-mechanical products that serve industrial customers across the UK and Europe. The systems are programmed using Schneider-based PLCs, and youll play a key role in both supporting live deployments and driving future design innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Act as technical lead for electrical design and control systems development
Design hardware for automated systems including cabinet layouts, safety, compliance calculations, and 2D drawings
Develop and maintain PLC code and associated control systems (CODESYS, Ladder, FBD, ST)
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate control logic into system builds
Troubleshoot and resolve on-site system issues as needed (UK and Europe travel required occasionally)
Work with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Ensure adherence to relevant safety regulations and compliance standards
Produce and maintain technical documentation, risk assessments, and validation plans
Your Profile
Degree, HND or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline
Strong experience in electrical hardware design for industrial machinery (Control panel and cabinet build)
Proficient in PLC programming, specifically using CODESYS and Schneider Machine Expert
Familiar with EU/UK machinery safety and electrical equipment regulations
Excellent communicator with a hands-on, collaborative approach
Able to interpret P&IDs and produce clear documentation and reports
2D Electrical Design experience - ideally Solidworks
