We are seeking a dedicated and passionate THRIVE Practitioner to join our team and play a key role in promoting a whole-school approach to supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and line managed by the Headteacher, the successful candidate will lead the implementation of the THRIVE approach across the school. This is a highly visible role, requiring a proactive presence within the school environment, supporting pupils and staff on a daily basis.

You will work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and families to ensure that all children are supported to engage positively in learning and school life. The role also includes leading staff training, maintaining key behavioural data, and ensuring high-quality provision for pupils with additional social and emotional needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone committed to making a meaningful difference to pupils’ wellbeing, engagement, and success!

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the implementation and delivery of the THRIVE approach across the school.
2. Work closely with the SLT to ensure consistent and effective practice in supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
3. Maintain and analyse behavioural data, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
4. Oversee and manage key documentation related to pupils’ behavioural and emotional needs.
5. Provide targeted support for pupils, working directly with individuals and groups.
6. Maintain a visible presence across the school, supporting day-to-day behavioural and emotional needs “on the floor”.
7. Work in partnership with parents/carers to support pupils’ development.
8. Deliver training and ongoing support for staff on THRIVE practices and strategies.
9. Lead debriefs and facilitate support networks for staff.
10. Collaborate with internal and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to pupil support.

Key Skills and Experience

11. Strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs in children.
12. Experience of implementing THRIVE or similar approaches (desirable).
13. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
14. Excellent organisational skills, particularly in managing data and documentation.
15. Ability to lead and deliver training to staff.
16. Resilient, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
17. Commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all pupils.

We pride ourselves on being an Equal Opportunities Employer. And we are committed to safeguarding and protecting the young people and service users within our care. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.

Cambian will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
