Overview
World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings.
We have a Centre of Excellence and Innovation in Witney for the manufacture of test strips and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The Operations group is the largest team in the Witney facility, producing high volumes of test strips and biosensors each year to the stringent quality standards demanded by European and US authorities and our internal quality systems.
Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Manufacturing workstream in the role of Team Lead, formed of a group of leaders collectively accountable for managing all aspects of the operation of the Manufacturing Unit. This position is covering a Day shift pattern of 4 on 4 off.
Responsibilities
* Manage and develop a team of employees and leaders within area of responsibility and be accountable for their performance whilst providing direction to ensure product availability, maintaining regulatory compliance and optimising productivity.
* Deliver quality and compliant product on time, in full and cost effectively to meet the needs of the business and customers, in a manner that supports core values and behaviours of the UK Operational Excellence ideals, and a culture of continuous improvement
* Facilitate optimisation of the production area by directing support staff e.g. leads, Engineering, Schedulers, QA and technical
* Monitor on a regular basis and be responsible for the overall quality of the product and documentation produced by the Manufacturing Unit
* Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Abbott standards by adhering to and maintaining EHS systems, programmes, procedures that manage EHS risk and by demonstrating leadership and commitment through actions and provision of sufficient resources.
* Support and drive rapid and compliant transfer/start up of new products and processes in the Manufacturing Unit.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Secondary level education required; able to demonstrate exposure to Operations/Manufacturing environments (including working knowledge of GMP, Technical, and Quality requirements), ideally within a regulated environment.
* Experience in 2nd line management (strategy, resource planning, financials) and a track record of developing, mentoring and coaching teams.
* Strong communication, engaging and motivating leadership style; passion for leading change and continuous improvement projects; ability to champion business culture and evolving journey.
* Proactive, self-managed, with demonstrated ability to deliver objectives and manage time effectively.
