The Role The Peripatetic Home Manager provides interim leadership and operational support across multiple Homes within the Healthcare Ireland Group, filling the role as the Registered or Acting Home Manager when required. Working alongside the Operations Team, stepping in where needed, ensure continuity of high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective day-to-day operations. This will include covering interim management vacancies, supporting homes through inspections, leading improvement plans, and supporting new managers through their inductions Home Managers oversee every aspect of the operation of the Home, from ensuring regulatory compliance and financial sustainability, to fostering a culture of the highest standards of care and continuous improvement. The Home Manager, and therefore the Peripatetic Manager leads by example, inspiring their team to uphold the highest standards of care while also providing support and guidance. This role ensures continuity of safe, effective, and high-quality care during periods of management absence, vacancy, transition, regulatory challenge, or performance improvement. The role of the Peripatetic Manager is indispensable to the success of our Homes. Their leadership and expertise ensure that residents receive the highest quality of care, making a profound and positive impact on the lives of our residents. This role also plays an important part in supporting Home Managers and when required, and furthering their professional development. The postholder will embed company standards, drive regulatory compliance, stabilise teams, and support sustainable operational performance aligned to organisational values and strategy. About The Role Main Responsibilities Operational Leadership Assume full Home Manager responsibilities where required on an interim basis. Provide visible, values-led leadership to clinical and non-clinical teams. Ensure safe staffing levels and effective rota management. Oversee admissions, occupancy management, and fee sustainability. Maintain safe systems of work in line with regulatory standards. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with RQIA regulations and guidelines. Lead homes through inspection preparation and inspection response. Working with the governance team to deliver quality improvement action plans. Monitor audits, risk registers, incident trends, and safeguarding processes. Ensure robust medication management and clinical governance standards. Performance Stabilisation Support Homes experiencing operational or quality concerns. Analyse KPIs including occupancy, agency usage, staff turnover, sickness absence, complaints, and safeguarding. Deliver structured improvement plans with measurable outcomes. Provide structured handover to permanent Home Manager on appointment. People Leadership Provide coaching and mentorship to Deputy Managers and senior team members. Support recruitment and onboarding of permanent Home Managers. Lead disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence management processes as required. Foster a positive culture focused on accountability and compassion. Financial Oversight Manage home budgets during interim placement. Monitor agency spend, overtime and staffing costs. Ensure payroll accuracy and staffing efficiency. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Act as key point of contact for families and external professionals. Liaise with commissioning bodies and safeguarding teams. Build strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
