We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal operational performance. *Duties*
* Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on HGVs using schematics and technical manuals
* Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to execute repairs effectively
* Carry out welding, soldering, and assembly tasks as required for vehicle refurbishment or modification
* Interpret technical schematics and diagrams to identify faults and implement solutions
* Repair or replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and electrical wiring
* Maintain accurate records of all work performed in compliance with company standards
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations while maintaining high-quality standards
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role within the heavy vehicle maintenance industry
* Strong electrical experience coupled with mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles
* Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools
* Skilled in fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly processes
* Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for repairs and maintenance
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
* Customer service skills to effectively communicate repair processes and findings to clients
* NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification)
* A full personal toolkit
*Working Hours*
*Monday – Friday (alternating weekly shifts):*
* *Week 1:* 06:00 – 15:30
* *Week 2:* 09:00 – 18:30
*Saturdays:* 1 in 3 on a rota, 06:00 – 10:00
*Total Hours:* 45 per week
