This post is a Secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

This job role covers the Urgent Care line in our Emergency Department. The successful candidate would be answering urgent calls from patients, GP services, Opticians and doctors/consultants within the Trust. Details of all calls need to be logged and passed to the Triage team.
Alongside answering the calls you would be in charge of monitoring the urgent email system, printing off urgent referrals and preparing for the doctor to triage. Once triaged you will need to book the patients appointments.
Also as part of this roll you will need to monitor our WPAS data and ensure it is correctly inputted.
Main duties of the job
Working in a highly pressurised call centre environment to provide a professional, accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of a professional efficient service.
Use own initiative in often complex situations to ensure that patients are dealt with efficiently.
Ensure that data held on the WPAS system is accurate, up to date and fit for purpose, applying adjustment to patient pathways where appropriate in line with policy, responding to and undertaking any outcomes of validation and data quality checks.
To communicate with patients, relevant health care professionals, external agencies and BCUHB staff about queries related to the booking of appointments. This may involve some face-to-face contact with patients/carers.
Relay sensitive information to patients and carers in relation to waiting times for appointments, dealing with aggressive and antagonistic patients in a tactful and calm manner.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
