We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Phlebotomists (Band 2) to join our dynamic and fast-paced Phlebotomy, Anticoagulant, Inpatient, and Outpatient services.
As a vital part of our growing team, you’ll contribute to essential patient care across multiple locations:
Service Locations:
1. Luton and Dunstable Hospital – Inpatient wards, Adult and Paediatric Outpatient Departments
2. Arndale House, Luton Shopping Mall
3. Travelodge, Dunstable Road, Luton
Key Responsibilities:
4. Collecting blood samples from both inpatients and outpatients
5. Supporting general departmental operations
Working Hours:
6. Monday to Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
7. Thursday & Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
8. Weekends & Bank Holidays: 5-hour shifts on a rota basis
This is a 28.5-hour per week pro rata position, ideal for individuals passionate about patient care and eager to thrive in a busy clinical environment.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include:
9. To undertake collection of blood samples from In Patients, Outpatients and GP requests after suitable training and assessment of competency.
10. Carrying out general departmental duties.
11. To work on a rota system at weekends and Bank Holidays.
12. To carry out routine stock taking and monitor stock levels.
13. To assist in anticoagulant clinics as required.
