Job Description Payroll Administrator This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in payroll, particularly within a practice environment. Responsibilities As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for: Preparing and completing entire payroll processes for multiple clients of varying sizes, managing over 200 payrolls monthly. Advising clients on payroll-related issues and ensuring compliance with PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and other statutory requirements. Handling starters, leavers, PAYE end-of-year procedures, furlough payments, and attachment of earnings. Managing Inland Revenue queries and ensuring compliance with minimum wage regulations. Administering pensions, including auto-enrolment assessments. Producing and distributing payslips, P45s, P60s, and payroll reports. Reconciling payroll and maintaining accurate payroll filing and electronic records. Calculating average holiday pay for variable pay staff. Addressing pay-related queries from staff and ensuring a high level of service. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess: Proven payroll experience, including handling starters, leavers, statutory pay, and leave. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing. Up-to-date knowledge of PAYE/NIC regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels of the business. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines under pressure. Experience in handling pay-related queries. A background in practice is highly desirable.
