Indirect Tax Senior Manager job ACA CTA ATT Basingstoke Hampshire Flexible Hybrid Your new company I am currently working with one of our premium clients on a new in-house tax opportunity. Your new role You will: Lead the EMEA VAT team with six members located in the UK and Europe Manage and support the team with the preparation and review of VAT returns in-house and the management of external advisors, both for the outsourced preparation and filing of VAT and other returns, and advisory support Supporting the tax and finance teams on VAT account reconciliations Leading on EMEA VAT audits Work with the business to respond to ad-hoc day-to-day queries, applying knowledge on the VAT implications of the movement of goods cross-border across the UK, Europe and the rest of EMEA, to give technical advice and find solutions on new transactions and contracts Being part of project teams to support the VAT workstreams on mergers, the transfer of trade within the group, system improvements and integration, and the rollout of a global tax engine Input into SAO reviews and disclosures and management/improvement of any risk areas Supporting the business with queries, and developing processes to stay compliant with, customs issues and new indirect taxes (e.g. plastic taxes, green taxes, etc) Working with the team to document processes and controls and drive forward procedure and risk management improvements What you'll need to succeed You will either be a qualified accountant or tax professional, or gained extensive experience in a similar role. This may suit a manager looking to progress their career to senior manager level and above. Previous team management skills would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills are needed to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to advise the business in simple dialogue. A proactive nature is needed, being able to spot risks or opportunities to improve processes. What you'll get in return You will receive a salary dependent on experience up to £115,000 10% bonus. Only 1 day in the office is required with flexible working options available.
